This year MBS Software and Maltby Land Surveys had their
Christmas Party at Hickstead Hotel. The event was attended by over 70
members of staff and their partners, suppliers and clients.
The day commenced at 9am with breakfast at Cottesmore Golf
Club. The event was a team competition, held in appalling conditions,
won convincingly, with a combined score of 94, by the "6ft gimme team!"
comprising of David Maltby, Paul Morley and Mike Hopkins. The
individual prize went to Richard Blakesley with a stableford score of 34.
After a well earned afternoon bar session, everyone headed
off to the Hotel to prepare for the evening celebrations. Pre-dinner
drinks were held in the bar from 7pm, giving people a chance to catch up on
recent events and to discuss the afternoon's golf and those 6ft gimmes!
With most people suitably fuelled, a magnificent dinner was
served, followed by a speech by David Maltby (which surprisingly lasted only a
matter of minutes!) thanking everyone for a very successful year for both
MBS and MLS, and presenting Richard Blakesley with his prize for "Best
Individual Golfer".
It was all too much for Steve Maltby who took it upon himself to commence the evening's dancing - everyone else had to wait as it was deemed too dangerous to participate whilst Steve was having his moment!
The evening continued into the early hours with drinks flowing and a good time had by all. Congratulations to everyone at MBS and MLS for making 2004 such a successful year.
