Survey Ireland has become an annual pilgrimage for us as Ireland continues to be a fantastic market for MBS Software Ltd.
As usual the event was a one day event held at the Grand Hotel in Malahide, which included a conference, exhibition and gala dinner. All the usual suspects were present, however the previous 5 days had provided fairly continuous rain and of course the 23rd proved to be sunny, resulting in a reduced turnout.
The evening dinner was attended by about 35 people with Master of Ceremonies John McNally from BKS organising the Survey Ireland equivalent of the Eurovision Song Contest with representation from Ireland, England and Germany. The event was easily won by Shane from Korec who had obviously been practising. However, the rendition of Happy Birthday from Paul Challis of Leica Geosystems was really something!
Due to the nature of the event, several people suggested that it should be extended over two days allowing a wider scope of people to attend - that gets our vote.
