The Event
The black tie event (now in its third year) was attended by over 300 people, who were presented with an evening of dinner and dance.  The evening began with the traditional game of Heads & Tails (you know the one...), a 3 course meal, raffle and auction. The auction was hosted by the irrepressible Steve Speczyk & Edwina Currie.  Steve is the event organiser, and governor of Treloar School, who makes the whole thing possible.  Items donated to the auction included Edwina's salt cellar featured on Hell's Kitchen, a signed gold disk from the band "The Who" and a day on a luxury yacht for 10 people.  The items auctioned raised an incredible amount of money for the charities. Following the auction the live band for the evening took a grip on proceedings, with a large proportion of the guests heading straight for the dance floor which remained pretty much full to capacity for the remainder of the evening.  Ray Maltby claims he stole a dance with Edwina Currie, but as of yet no photographic evidence has been produced to verify the claim......
