David Maltby and Andy Roberts were kindly invited to attend the 2006 Leica Disto Dealer Day held at Land Rover Experience Chiltern on Hounslow Hall Estate, an 1400 acre working farm close to Milton Keynes.
The aim of the day was two-fold. The morning was scheduled as a strategy meeting for Leica to explain the new company structure, following the merger with Hexagon, a presentation on the sales strategy and a world exclusive preview of the forthcoming Disto A8.
We were particularly privaledged as present were the Measuring Tools Division President Klaus Brammertz (see above), the Measuring Tools Division Global Sales Manager, Hugh Baertlein and the new Product Manager for the A6 and A8, Diane Auer - all of whom had flown into the UK especially.
Following a buffet lunch the afternoon was dedicated to off-road driving with the Land Rover Experience team which offers professional 4x4 training, fun off-road driving days, corporate and team building days.
The team uses a fleet of recent model Land Rover vehicles including Freelander, Discovery, Defender, Range Rover, and Range Rover Sport and we all had the opportunity to drive easy of the vehicles over different terrain.
The day was a great success and our thanks are extended to Klauss and his team for their great hospitality.
